Jaundice

Jaundice is a medical condition that results in yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes. This yellow color is caused by a buildup of bilirubin, a substance produced when the body breaks down old red blood cells. Normally, bilirubin is processed by the liver and eliminated from the body, but when this process is disrupted, jaundice can occur.
